Define the job before comparing products
Choose the workflow first: scheduled DCA, range-based Grid orders, TradingView signals, portfolio rebalancing or local strategy code. Coinrule emphasizes rule construction, Altrady combines a terminal with focused bots, and Gunbot prioritizes self-hosted control; they solve different problems.
Choose an architecture you can operate
Cloud services manage uptime and updates but handle trading credentials. Self-hosted software keeps more control local while making you responsible for patches, secrets and network exposure. A built-in exchange bot such as Pionex avoids a third-party API connection but leaves assets with the exchange.
Check evidence before score
Confirm the legal operator, current terms, pricing, API scopes, withdrawal policy, security documentation and material incidents. Limited evidence confidence means the score rests on more unresolved areas; it does not automatically mean the score is low.
Run a reversible trial
Use paper trading where available, then a separate subaccount and small position limits. Test alert failure, key revocation, stop behavior and total fees. Decide in advance what evidence would make you stop using the product.
